Leaving yellow lit California and moving to Berlin made me realize the color palette of a place based on feeling and memory. I wanted to recreate the nostalgic quality of my birthplace. The backdrop of Berlin’s gray winter inspired me to surround myself with large scale, drippy and hazy colored brushstrokes that I felt for Los Angeles.
